FAQ

FAQ

Do I need to do the full protocol if I felt great after the first session?
While a percentage of individuals respond positively after one session, it is important to complete the full 6-session protocol for optimal results.
After I complete the full protocol, do I need to have more sessions?
Booster sessions (1 session each time) are recommended every three months.
Should I stop my antidepressant medication while doing a rTMS protocol?
Any decisions to stop medication should be made in consultation with your doctor.
What are the age requirements for Exomind?
Health Canada has approved Exomind for individuals over the age of 22 years. There is no upper age limit.
Is rTMS with Exomind painful?
Research has shown that 95% of individuals experience no discomfort with Exomind.
Are there long-term negative side effects with Exomind?
No adverse events have been reported. Some individuals feel mild discomfort on the left side of their head for a few minutes after a session.
How does rTMS work?
rTMS works by using a small electromagnetic coil placed against the scalp to deliver magnetic pulses that stimulate nerve cells in specific areas of the brain. This stimulation can help activate underactive regions of the brain.
Which part of the brain does Exomind stimulate?
Currently, treatment protocols stimulate the left dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex of the brain. Research is being conducted on other parts of the brain, although these protocols are not yet available for clinical use.
Why would I choose Exomind over other rTMS devices?
Exomind uses the latest brain stimulation technology. Exomind offers several advantages compared with earlier rTMS technologies:

  • shorter session time
  • many fewer sessions in a protocol
  • improved brain mapping
  • significantly improved comfort and no downtime
